MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Roller Derby is making its mark in Marquette. The Dead River Derby is growing in support and interest and they are getting closer their first official practice.
Dead River Derby members Amy Lakenen and Jess Laxo, who is also the team’s coach, chatted about the team and the surprisingly strong interest for it in the community with Great Lakes Radio’s Mike Plourde.
They talked about how there is still a swell of interest in the sport that continues to grow and how the amount of people interested in taking part in the derby went well beyond original expectations.
