Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter has received a grant to extend financial help for low income families in the area to have their family pets spayed or neutered.
Lareina Van Strien from UPAWS joined the SUNNY Morning Show today to talk about the grant and how people who can use the help can sign up.
She explained that grant came from an anonymous donor and will pay for a significant portion of the fees to spay or neuter the pet of a low-income family that may not be able to afford the procedure, but wants to keep the pet population in check.
