MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Michigan’s senior U.S. Senator Carl Levin, Chair of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations called in today to chat with News Director Walt Lindala about the findings of an investigation into improper money laundering by international bank HSBC.
The year-long investigation looked at how global banking giant HSBC exposed the U.S. financial system to money laundering, drug trafficking and terrorist financing risks because of the their poor anti-money laundering controls.
Senator Levin discussed the findings of the investigation and what actions will be taken to attempt to prevent such future activities.
