MARQUETTE, MI – Great Lakes Radio News– Marquette’s Mattson Lower Harbor Park will be THE place to be for blues fans this Labor Day weekend as the Marquette Area Blues Fest presents 10 blues bands over two days. The festival runs from 12 noon to 10 pm on Saturday, September 1st and Sunday, September 2nd.
It also features workshops, a variety of food vendors, blues merchandise and more.
Mark Stonerock, President of the Marquette Area Blues Society, joined Sunny 101.9’s SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike to talk about the festival schedule and lineup of performers. Included this year are Andrew “Jr. Boy” Jones, John Primer, Trampled Under Foot and Carolyn Wonderland.
Stonerock also discussed the food vendors and what they will have for folks to enjoy, ranging from Cajun and barbecue favorites to Thai cuisine and kettle popcorn. He also talked about how you can volunteer for the event and help out.
