MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Two activities going on in the Irontown are set to benefit both the community and the school district.

Anna Mattson, organizer with the Negaunee Beautification Committee, and Emily Strazzinski, Music Teacher at the Lakeview School in Negaunee, joined the SUNNY Morning Show today to discuss both projects.

Anna talked about a program underway to collect old and unused cell phones from members of the community to insure they are kept out of landfills and indiscriminately thrown out as junk.

Emily talked about a pair of music concerts that have been set up to benefit an effort to purchase new music shells for the Negaunee School Band to use at concerts at the Lakeview Gym.
