Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The 12th Annual Marquette Area Blues Fest is this weekend at the Mattson Lower Harbor Park in downtown Marquette.
Marquette Area Blues Society President Mark Hamari joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to preview the event and call out for volunteers.
Hamari said Blues Week activities in Marquette kick off tonight with a special LIVE & OUTSIDE Bluesday Tuesday show by the Flat Broke Blues Band on the steps of the Peter White Public Library at 7:00 p.m.
He also added that there is a Free Friday show at the Blues Fest thanks to Honor Credit Union and the Ore Dock Brewing Company with the Rockin’ Johnny Band from Chicago at 6:00 p.m. and Ross Kleiner & the Thrill from Minneapolis at 8:00 p.m.
The festival continues Saturday and Sunday with gates opening at noon each day with headliners Lil’ Ed & the Blues Imperials at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and Coco Montoya at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday.
