Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette City Police Chief Mike Angeli says being called up this week to serve as acting City Manager was surprising, but he is prepared to stay on the job as long as needed.

Angeli joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today and spoke briefly about being named to the post in the wake of the sudden resignation of former City Manager Bill Vajda.

He says that while this is actually the second time he has been appointed to the job, he is considering taking it on full-time as the city is currently involved in several major projects and initiatives.

Angeli said that with those matters in play, he is open to conversations with the City Commission to be hired on as City Manager permanently.

He says he is willing to explore taking on the job in an effort to maintain continuity at City Hall.
