    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Filmmaker Michael Loukinen joined The SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike to talk about his latest film,”Winona: A Copper Country Ghost Town”.

    The movie is an historical documentary about the community of Winona located 30 miles southwest of Houghton, MI.

    Loukinen talked about the history of the area and how during the height if its existence from1900-1920 it was a mining company town with an estimated population of over 2,000.

    Thirteen residents remain in the town now.

    The film is premiering this evening at 7:00 o’clock in Jamrich Hall on the campus of Northern Michigan University and will have a Copper Country Premiere at the Calumet Theater in Calumet tomorrow at 7:00 p.m.
