Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Trillium House is a new organization with the mission to build and support a residence in Marquette for individuals to live in during their final weeks and months, while under the care of Hospice.
Trillium House Board President Dan Mazzuchi and Board Member Aaron Scholnik joined Walt Lindala on the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to talk about the plans for the facility.
Mazzuchi said the Trillium House will have eight patient rooms that will be open to all hospice patients.
Scholnik said the facility, which is modeled after a similar facility in Houghton, will fill a need hospice providers in the Marquette community have seen for many years.
Trillium House will be staffed appropriately and will rely on volunteers to provide assistance while the patient remains under their physician’s and hospice providers direct care.
They both discussed where the facility is planned to be built and how it is being wholly funded as a non-profit organization by financial donations.
