Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The NICE Community Schools Board of Education is considering a bond referendum for expansion of some district athletic facilities.

Superintendent Bryan DeAugustine discussed the possible ballot initiative when he joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to share a district update.

DeAugustine talked about the current status of newly-renovated facilities in the district such as the Patriot Performing Arts Theater as well as the new Digital Design Lab.

He also explained that the district is studying a possible expansion of locker rooms and additional gym space to be used for athletics.

DeAugustine said the Board of Education is working this month to determine the feasibility and actual need for the expansion, which would have to be put before voters as a bond referendum this spring to be funded.
