Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – 109th District State Representative John Kivela recently weighed in on Proposal 1, the sales tax increase to be decided by voters in May, during a swing into Marquette.
Speaking on The SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike this week, the Marquette Democrat explained several elements of the plan, but admitted that the idea is not very popular with voters in the district.
Kivela also talked about the MI Tax Tribunal decision concerning so-called “dark” stores and tax valuation and how that is negatively impacting revenue in the state.
Also discussed were new pieces of legislation Kivela intends to introduce soon in Lansing continuing the effort to eradicate meth from Michigan.
