Marquette, MI – (11/26/19) – On our latest Active Physical Therapy update, we heard from Pam Dost, Athletic Trainer with Active Physical Therapy’s Ishpeming location. She works with the student athletes at the Negaunee Schools, and she talked about basketball injuries.
Dost explained that the most common basketball injuries include ankle sprains, knee injuries and jammed fingers. She shared some good preventative measures to take to prevent some of these injuries, including taking the time to warm up properly before playing, and making sure you have the proper footwear.
Dost also talked about how physical therapy can play a role in the training process to strengthen the body to be in good shape to play basketball. Another point of discussion was how a well-planned physical therapy regimen can speed up recovery form basketball injuries.
