Marquette, MI – (12/17/19) – The Negaunee Public Schools are starting up two major projects to make updates and improvements in the district.  Superintendent Dan Skewis joined Mark & Walt in the Morning today to discuss what’s on the drawing board.

Skewis said the first project will create a Negaunee Public Schools Hall of Fame that will be constructed in the lower level entryway lobby of the Lakeview Gymnasium.  The Hall of Fame will recognize prominent alumni and supporters of the Miners and the first honorees are slated to be inducted during Pioneer Days this summer.

He also talked about the effort to develop a bond proposal that is being set up to go before voters in the district on August to generate about $7 million to make a series of improvements including the high school and middle school media centers, replacing windows at the middle school, updating and renovating the majority of classrooms at Lakeview Elementary and more.
