Marquette, MI – (01/14/20) – The Michigan Department of Corrections is seeking people in the Upper Peninsula and the rest of the state who are interested in careers in corrections, and they are hosting a special Open House event at Marquette Branch Prison this weekend to share information about career options.
Pamela Basal, who is a Hearings Investigator at the Marquette Branch Prison, joined Mark & Walt in the Morning today to talk about the open house at the facility this Saturday, January 18th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Basal talked about what jobs the state is looking to fill as well as the pay and benefits. She also shared some of the requirements of becoming a Corrections Officer, the type of people they are looking for and the required training for the position.
