Marquette, MI – (01/20/20) – State Senator Ed McBroom called in to share a legislative update today on Mark & Walt in the Morning. Senator McBroom discussed the current state of negotiations on road funding at the Capitol in Lansing.
McBroom said that it appears that all sides in the talks are seemingly more attuned to getting an effective funding package put together in this latest round of meetings than during last year’s budget wrangling.
He also talked about action taken by the State Senate Oversight Committee, which he chairs, asking M-DOT for an accounting of changes the department made after auditors found industry influence in of the aggregates (sand, gravel, crushed stone, slag or recycled concrete that is combined and used in road construction) market in 2016.
