Marquette, MI – (02/17/20) – State Senator Ed McBroom joined Mark & Walt in the Morning today to recap a busy weekend that included a stop in Marquette for the annual running of the UP 200 and Midnight Run sled dog races.
McBroom talked about being accompanied by several of his Lansing legislative colleagues for the trip to the U.P. and why those types of visits are important. He explained that the events help to build a rapport among lawmakers from around the state that can aid in getting legislation passed.
He also talked about the Battle of the Bridge veteran hockey game on the night of February 22nd in Houghton that will benefit the Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette. The game features the Michigan Saginaw Spirit Warriors and the Michigan Upper Peninsula Veterans Hockey Club and is being held at Dee Stadium.
McBroom talked about a friendly wager he made with his Senate colleague, Ken Horn from Frankenmuth, betting a pasty dinner against an Frankenmuth chicken dinner.
