Marquette, MI – (02/21/20) – Marquette County TRIAD, a collaboration between senior groups and law enforcement, is getting the word out to senior citizens as well as anyone else, about the ongoing scams being carried out in our communities.
Rich Johnson, Volunteer with the Forsyth Township Police and Chair of TRIAD, and Detective John Kovar with the Northern Michigan University Police Department, joined Mark & Walt in the Morning today to talk about the scams and what to do to protect yourself from them.
Johnson said as we approach tax time, the scammers are ramping up their threats and people need to be aware about how to handle them and protect themselves. Kovar added that any legitimate agency will not ask for personal account information or have you arrested or legally charged if you do not make immediate payments.
