Marquette, MI – (03/17/20) – The Marquette Area Public Schools are offering free breakfast and lunch for children age 18 and under at multiple locations. District Superintendent Bill Saunders joined Mark & Walt in the Morning today to share information about the program that will run for the duration of the closure of the school due to COVID-19.

Saunders said the scheduled drop-off times and locations are as follows:

Marquette Senior High School from 8:00am to 9:00am and 11:30am to 12:30pm inside the school under the canopy entrance. Graveraet School from 10:50am to 11:10am in the employee parking lot. Superior Hills Elementary from 11:20am to 11:40am at the parking lot in front of the school, and Cherry Creek Elementary from 12:00 noon to 12:20pm at the parking lot in front of the school.

Saunders said staff will be handing the food from the back of the food truck, with the exception being at MSHS. The meals will be delivered in a red truck with a white box.

Students do not need to be present while the families are picking up supplies. A family can pick up lunch, breakfast, and a JJ Pack all in one visit. Many families have multiple children and it is acceptable for an adult to pick up breakfast, lunch, and a JJ Pack for several children.
