Marquette, MI – (03/31/20) – The NICE Community Schools are adjusting to the COVID-19-related closure and preparing for a possible end of the entire school year.

Superintendent Bryan DeAugustine joined Mark & Walt in the Morning today with the latest update for the district.

DeAugustine says since Governor Whitmer’s original executive order to suspend classes due to the coronavirus, the district has been reaching out to neighboring schools districts and Northern Michigan University to continue to extend enrichment materials to students who are confined to home.

He says now that the school year may actually not resume as part of the effort to combat COVID-19, the district is working to continue communications between teachers and families to distribute online educational tools to keep students learning in these challenging times.
