Marquette Police Chief Blake Rieboldt Discusses City Fireworks Ordinance And July 4th Safety

Marquette, MI – (07/01/20) – Marquette City Police Chief Blake Rieboldt joined Mark & Walt in the Morning today to remind city residents and visitors about the details of the city’s fireworks ordinance.

Rieboldt said the main points of the ordinance are that consumer fireworks can be set off on private property ONLY between the hours of 11:00am and 11:45pm now through this Saturday, July 4th.  Violators are subject to a $1000 fine.

He encouraged those who decide to set off fireworks to be considerate of their neighbors and pets and to also not consume alcohol when using them.  Rieboldt also reminded people to be aware of fire conditions in their area with any fireworks displays.
