Marquette, MI – (07/03/20) – The Marquette Downtown Development Authority says the Downtown Marquette Farmers Market is shifting to an in-person market this Saturday.
Sara Johnson, Market Manager of the Downtown Marquette Farmer’s Market, joined Mark & Walt in the Morning to talk about the change and what it means for patrons. She explained that the change to going to in-person sales is thanks to relaxed COVID-19 guidelines for the U.P.
Johnson said the key to remember is that the market is classified as an essential food retailer and should be treated that way.
She added that the market will not be the community gathering space it has been in the past, with elements like music, children’s activities, food demonstrations, and product sampling discontinued for the time being.
