MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The community spring carnival being presented this weekend by the Skerbeck Brothers in downtown Ishpeming is continuing a long tradition of benefiting a local healthy living facility.
Bay Cliff Health Camp, located in Big Bay, MI, is one of two groups receiving financial contributions generated by revenues of the carnival. The other group is the Ishpeming Volunteer Fire Department.
Tim Bennett, Camp Director at Bay Cliff, joined Great Lakes Radio this morning to discuss where the funds raised at this weekend’s carnival are going to be used. He made it clear that the money goes directly into youth programs and activities and not for physical facility upgrades.
He also indicated that while Bay Cliff is mostly associated with summer time activities, the facilities are used year around for several different events, all of which carry an expense on the brick and mortar of the camp.
