Marquette, MI – August 31, 2020 – The Marquette City Commission has a regular meeting this evening in Marquette, and City Manager Mike Angeli joined Mark & Walt in the Morning to share a preview.
Angeli said one major item is a public hearing on a proposed ordinance that bans smoking at all city parks, playgrounds, and beaches.
In July, the Commission directed the City Attorney to draft the proposed ordinance, which also prohibits smoking within 100 feet of any city owned or leased playground or athletic field.
Angeli said the Commission will vote on the proposal after the hearing.
The meeting is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m. at Commission Chambers at Marquette City Hall on Baraga Avenue.
