Marquette, MI – January 23, 2020 -Nestled in Gwinn across from the high school is the tasty treasure of Towners Pastry & Chocolate Shoppe. It’s a classic European Patisserie that also handcrafts Beligian chocolates. From authentic, take three days to make croissants to cinnamon rolls, from sandwiches to truffles, owners Jake and Katie Bonzer excel at their craft and offer something for everyone, including many gluten free options.
Towners Pastry and Chocolate Shoppe has quickly turned into one of my “must” stops when I make it to Gwinn. I plan my trips around when they’re open. Saturday my hubby and I took a ride out to visit friends and had to make the requisite stop. I, of course, wanted all of the chocolate everything so got a couple of to die for croissants. The hubby was being difficult and “didn’t want anything sweet”…weirdo…but thank goodness he was because it made me try one of their breakfast sandwiches served on one of their classic croissants. The price was comparable to what you’d pay at a fast food place for a breakfast sandwich and holy tasty Batman! There’s just no comparison. Who knew some bacon, cheese, and egg, on a fluffy, takes three days to make croissant could be one of the yummiest things I’ve had lately, and I eat a lot of good food.
