Washington, D.C. – (Great Lakes Radio News) – An amendment authored by U.S. Congressman Dan Benishek that calls for increased accountability of the Veterans Affairs Agency has passed in the U.S. House.
The amendment was part of an overall package of VA reforms.
The Upper Michigan Republican says his ‘Demanding Accountability for Veterans’ amendment is “a huge step forward in the fight to hold the VA accountable to veterans”.
The bill was passed yesterday with bi-partisan support by a vote of 256 to 170 and now goes to the Senate for consideration.
