Republic, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Fire crews are back at the scene of a wildfire today in Marquette County.
The Department of Natural Resources says fire was reported around 1:00 o’clock yesterday afternoon about three-and-a-half miles north of Republic near the Eagle Mine Humboldt Mill.
At last report, the fire had consumed approximately 100 acres.
The DNR says a containment line was set last night around the fire and crews were pulled off the scene overnight.
There have been no injuries or structure damage reported and no residents have been evacuated.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
