Charges Amended for Marquette County Man Arrested for Stealing Women’s Clothing

Charges have been changed for the Marquette County man stealing woman's clothing

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Charges have been revised against a Marquette County man arrested recently for allegedly stealing several items of women’s swimwear and undergarments from residences in the Republic area.

The Marquette County Prosecuting Attorney has amended the charges pending against 48-year-old William Joseph Miller of Witch Lake. Two of the original misdemeanor larceny charges have been found to be a second or subsequent offense, resulting in the charges being upped to felonies punishable by up to five years in prison and/or a $10,000.00 fine on each count.

Count three of the amended complaint against Miller remains a misdemeanor charge of breaking & entering a vehicle to steal property less than $200.00, a misdemeanor punishable by up to 93 days in jail and/or $500 fine.

Bond has been set at $5,000.00 on each of the three charges and a preliminary examination is set for August 14th.  Miller remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail. The Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
