Mastodon Township, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State police at the Iron Mountain Post are investigating an explosion this week in Iron County.
Troopers were called out Wednesday afternoon on a report of an explosion and gunshots at a residence in Mastodon Township.
An investigation found that two people had attempted to bring down a structure using commercial-grade fireworks and the explosive tannerite.
Authorities seized an undisclosed amount of the fireworks and tannerite as well as what State Police are describing as pipe bomb type explosives.
The investigation is continuing and charges are being sought against the people involved.
