Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette City Commission will be discussing the position of City Manager at their regular meeting tonight.

The Commission will hear a report on the matter from Mayor Pro Tem Dave Campana.

Current City Police Chief Mike Angeli has been serving as acting City Manager since the resignation of former City Manager Bill Vajda.

Reports say the Commission is considering offering Angeli the job on a permanent basis, and Angeli is interested.

Commissioners have said they want to take that step to maintain continuity at City Hall during several major projects that are underway.

Angeli would have to step down as Police Chief if he accepts the job.

Tonight’s meeting begins at 7 o’clock at Commission Chambers at City Hall in Marquette.
