Downstate man convicted of robbing U.P. bank

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The downstate man convicted of robbery of a bank in Chocolay Township last year has been sentenced in Federal Court.

30-year-old Justin Dee McLean was sentenced this morning to over eight years in prison for robbing the Northern Michigan Bank & Trust in October of 2011.

McLean was sentenced to a total of 105 months in prison along with three years of supervised release and was ordered to pay restitution to the bank.

The Judge, R. Allen Edgar, sentenced McLean to the maximum sentence for the crime for robbing the bank of just over a thousand dollars.

He was arrested three days later in Gillette, Wyoming.
