Casperson's legislation passes in SenateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Senator Tom Casperson has authored a piece of legislation included in a package of bills attacking child pornography that has unanimously passed in the Senate in Lansing.

The Escanaba Republican says the bills will modify laws passed in the early 90’s that don’t address the issue as thoroughly as originally hoped, due to the advances with the internet and technology since the legislation was originally passed.

Casperson’s measure amends criminal procedures to make it easier for prosecutors to use evidence gathered in undercover police operations against child predators during sentencing.

The package now moves to the House of Representatives for further consideration.
