Lansing, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Representative Scott Dianda says U.P. residents are getting misleading phone calls and postcards that support a Republican-sponsored package of energy bills.
Dianda says the automated calls tell residents to support the legislation and then connects them directly to Dianda’s office line to voice that support.
He says residents are being told if the bills are not approved, their energy rates will dramatically increase.
The Calumet Democrat says that is not true.
He says the Republican bills treat all of Michigan as the same, and do not address the specific energy needs of the U.P.
He says a-one-size-fits-all state energy plan will not work and he is not supporting the package.
