MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Authorities in Marquette County arrested a man on a series of charges yesterday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash in Negaunee.
Police were contacted just after 3:00 o’clock yesterday afternoon about a westbound Ford pickup truck headed to Negaunee on U.S. 41 that appeared to be being operated by a drunk driver.
The pickup eventually collided with an eastbound 2006 Buick sedan, driven by 67-year-old Robert Morrison of Negaunee, at U.S. 41 and Baldwin Avenue when the driver of the pickup attempted to turn left off of the highway.
The driver of the pickup, a 31-year-old Ishpeming man, was arrested for operating while intoxicated, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, and possession of open intoxicants in a motor vehicle.
His name is being withheld pending arraignment. Morrison sustained a minor head injury and was treated at the scene. The investigation is continuing.
