Cordell Bound Over In Schoolcraft County Murder Case

    Manistique, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A Manistique man accused of murdering three people in Schoolcraft County has been bound over to Circuit Court.

    47-year-old Garry Cordell is charged with murdering Jody Hutchinson, Carrie Nelson and Heather Aldrich whose bodies were found in a burned out vehicle in April in Doyle Township.

    Cordell stood mute on 12 felony charges and a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf. Cordell has been scheduled for a pretrial hearing on November 5th.

    Among those expected to testify against Cordell is co-defendant 46-year-old Kenneth Brunke of Manistique.

    He plead guilty on Friday to two lesser charges related to the case.

    A third co-defendant, 28-year-old Marietta Carlson of Manistique, died of a medical condition while in police custody.
