Marinette County, WI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – American Transmission Company is conducting a pilot program this week using drones to inspect transmission lines in northeast Wisconsin.
ATC has contracted a firm that will use a drone with a high definition camera to inspect portions of two 69,000-volt transmission lines near Beaver, WI and continuing south to Green Bay.
If the pilot program is successful, ATC will evaluate using drone technology in other parts of its service area.
The inspection will run through Friday, depending on the weather.
