    Fatal snowmobile accident in HoughtonMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)Authorities in the Copper Country have released an update of their investigation into a fatal snowmobile accident.

    State Police at the Calumet Post say 41-year-old Roger Lewis of Houghton was killed when he rode his snowmobile under a steel cable on private property. The accident happened just before 10 p.m. Friday in Houghton County’s Franklin Township.

    Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene. State Police say they believe alcohol was a factor in the accident. Lewis was a former member of the NMU Wildcat Hockey team and played as a forward from 1994 to 1997.

    The investigation into the accident is continuing.
