Lansing, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Seasonally unadjusted unemployment rates showed little movement in October in most of the state’s 17 major labor market areas.

The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget says total employment and labor force levels rose moderately in the majority of regions over the month.

The overall unemployment rate for the period in Michigan was 5-percent, down from 6.3 percent last year.

The rate for Marquette County was 4.6 percent while the highest rate was in Schoolcraft County at 8.6 percent.
