Results for Dog Sled Races in the U.P.

    Great Lakes Radio NewsMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)The results are in for all of the sled dog races from this past weekend.

    The winner of the UP200 was Ryan Anderson of Ray, Minnesota.  This marks his 4th consecutive win of the UP200. Second place went to Keith Aili, also of Ray, Minnesota, and third place went to Ryan Redington of Wasilla, Alaska.

    The Winner of the Midnight Run was Michael Bestgen from St. Cloud, Minnesota, Al Borack from Cheboygan, Michigan came in second place and Tom Bauer from Tapiola, Michigan took third.

    Mushers in both of those races finished later than usual due to about 18-inches of show that fell over the weekend in Alger County.

    In the JackPine 30, held in Gwinn on Saturday, First place went to Monte Simmons, Jim Winkowski was second and Brad Quayle finished third.
