Six Arrested In Eastern U.P. Drug Bust

    Sault Ste. Marie, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team says six people have been arrested in Chippewa County for illegal distribution of prescription medications and marijuana.

    The suspects were identified during a two-month investigation involving a conspiracy to illegally distribute prescription medications.

    Detectives executed a search warrant yesterday at a residence in Sault Ste. Marie and arrested all six people on a total of 20 charges ranging from maintaining a drug house to felony distribution of prescription pills and marijuana.

    All six suspects were lodged at the Chippewa County Jail.

    The names of those arrested are being withheld pending arraignment and the investigation is ongoing.
