Houghton, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Parts of Michigan are experiencing significant snowfall today that will continue into tomorrow.
The National Weather Service says some parts of the Upper Peninsula could see upwards a foot of snow or more through tomorrow morning.
Moderate to heavy lake effect snow and blowing snow is expected on the western and northwestern U.P. snow belts through tomorrow morning.
A lake effect snow warning is in effect until 7:00 am tomorrow for Keweenaw and northern Houghton Counties.
Around the rest of the state, as much as six inches of snow could fall on parts of northern lower Michigan.
In West Michigan, and parts of mid-Michigan, four inches of snow could be on the ground by mid-morning Saturday.
