Construction to Start This Week at NMU for New Jamrich Hall

    Great Lakes Radio NewsMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)The project to construct a new Jamrich Hall academic building on the campus of Northern Michigan University in Marquette underway this week.

    Site-preparation activities will close about half of parking lot 28 between the Hedgcock facility and the Learning Resources Center, which houses Olson Library.

    As the project evolves, University officials say the public is advised to watch for signs directing traffic to alternate lots and to additional handicap parking.

    This week, crews will install construction fencing and deliver job trailers and heavy equipment. Next week, excavators will begin preparing the site for underground utilities.

    About half of lot 28 will remain open through the end of the current academic semester, but the entrance will eventually close and the entire lot will be fenced off in May as the project progresses.
