Marquette, Mi. – April 30, 2018
Spring means different things for different people. For some it’s tulips and daffodils in March. For others, maybe some surfing in early April. The end of February can feel like spring depending where you are.
For those of us born or transplanted into the U.P. Spring is whenever it feels like the season and it can look like pretty much anything.
Seeing as it is the last day of April and 78 degrees I decided to take a look around Marquette. While I was driving I was passed by a convertible with it’s top down. (There was a driver … his top was not down) A few bikers cruised along side me, so I need to step on the gas a little more, or they need to cut back on the Monster energy drinks.
A couple cruised by in…well I’m not sure what they were in but it looked like it belonged in a 30’s movie and they were happy as Yoopers can be this time of year. Sunglasses on, hair blowing in the wind along with the answers, and great big smiles.
I counted seven robins, one butterfly and thirty two geese coming home in a V formation. They were not wearing v-necks.
Joggers, hikers, bikers, lovers and likers. Everyone’s out. I’m going out again to join them. I did want to show you a shot of a running river with snow creeping down the hill.
This is spring.
